Davis,Smith taught himself to play the B3 nearly 50 years ago,and made his debut in an Atlantic City nightclub in
1955.He gained a wide audience with his releases from the late ’50s and early ’60s,which included “Back at
the Chicken Shack.” Now he ‘s inspiring others,and even in this age of lightweight keyboards,he sticks to the
original,blending R&B,blues and gospel and dashing it with bebop.
