MCSHANE TO BE ‘KING’
IAN McShane, who curled toes as the foul-mouthed Al Swearengen on “Deadwoood,” is coming back to TV.
McShane, currently appearing on Broadway in “The Homecoming,” is set to star as an Old Testament-era monarch in an NBC series to be called “Kings.”
The series – a costume drama – will be loosely based on the story of King David, according to a report yesterday.
McShane will play the old, authoritarian king who takes young David into the royal court after the king’s son.
NBC is set to announce the new series later this week.
