ABSTRACT:

Cafe St. John

500 W. 110th St.

(212) 932-8420

Just across the street from the Cathedral of St. John the Divine is a heavenly little bistro called Cafe St. John.

With dappled yellow walls, small-paned windows and a decorative fireplace in one room, and lace curtains, pink sconces and plants in another, the restaurant’s setting is as charming as its food. Throughout the cafe are sturdy oak tables, topped with little vases of nosegays.

As opera music plays in the background, people tend to settle in and take their time here. And then, of course, there’s that divine view.

Although the cathedral is bustling on Sundays, the cafe is closed.
