The aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell is anything but pretty, as newly released photos from “Game of Thrones” Episode 4 reveal. The living have to clean up after the dead — and bury them.

In one photo, the Stark sisters, Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya (Maisie Williams), gather with Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) to mourn.

In another image, deflated queen Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) stands with Varys (Conleth Hill) and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel); all look very somber as they ponder a future without Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) and the Dothraki army.

The photo of the ships is intriguing, both because they’re flying the Targaryen banner (does this mean the Jon-Dany conflict was resolved?) and because of what it implies.

Logically, they’re sailing to King’s Landing to deal with the last remaining scourge of Westeros — the nefarious, perpetually wine-smirking Cersei. However, they could be sailing elsewhere before heading to the capital. After all, there are over three hours left in this story. Surely the final showdown can’t come too soon.

Other possibilities include Dragonstone (where Dany was last season). They could refurbish their weapon supply and regroup there, since Winterfell is largely destroyed. Or maybe they’re sailing to the Iron Islands to inform Yara of Theon’s death and to enlist her troops to help pad out their ranks, now that two major parts of their army — the Dothraki and the Unsullied — are all but wiped out.

Finally, a photo of Cersei (Lena Headey) and her boy-toy/warrior Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) shows the dynamic duo standing by a window. The noon glow behind them seems to indicate that they’ve been having a lot more fun in King’s Landing than those at Winterfell.

Cersei will be well-rested for battle when they show up.
