James Spader is “The Office’s” newest full-time employee.

NBC has announced that he’s signed on to reprise the role of Robert California, the new CEO of Dunder-Mifflin’s parent company, Sabre, who was first introduced in this past season’s finale.

Spader’s character is an “uber-salesman that has a power to convince and manipulate, like a high-class weirdo Jedi warrior,” executive producer (and series actor) Paul Lieberstein said in a statement.

California will step into the position previously held by Kathy Bates’ character. Bates left the series following the Season 2 pickup of her show, “Harry’s Law.”

There’s still no word on who will be Michael Scott’s (Steve Carell) replacement.
