IT was a bad week from beginning to end for Nina Garcia, the hard-marking judge from “Project Runway.”
The trouble began on Monday when “Runway” jumped networks – from Bravo to Lifetime – without taking her along. And it ended last Friday when Nina lost her job as fashion director of Elle magazine.
The split has apparently been in the works for a while – ever since the fashion magazine brought in a new creative director more than a year ago.
Neither the magazine nor Garcia is confirming her departure, but New York magazine is reporting that the contents of her office were boxed up late last Friday and shipped to Garcia’s Upper East Side home.
Lifetime has said it would like Garcia to stay on the show when it is set to debut there next fall – but that she has, so far, not been re-signed.
