NY1 reporter Rebecca Spitz remained in critical but stable condition yesterday at St. Luke’s Hospital, three days after being hit in the head by a rear-view mirror while covering a story in Harlem.

“She’s still on a respirator but she’s shown improvement,” said a NY1 spokesman. “The hospital is being somewhat careful – we’ll see what the next 24-48 hours brings.”

Spitz, 31, suffered multiple skull fractures when the mirror of a passing van hit her as she was covering a news story in upper Manhattan.-
