A surprise pregnancy, wedding drama and a 360-degree trip back to the future will wrap up the successful rookie season of Fox’s “The O.C.” Executive producers Josh Schwartz urged fans to dig through their videotapes and pop in “The O.C.’s” first episode for clues. “Watch the pilot again. It’ll all come back to that,” Schwartz teased.
In the pilot, viewers were introduced to the show’s have- and have-not characters. Fate delivered juvenile delinquent Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) to the home of benevolent lawyer Sandy (Peter Gallagher) – and into the arms of Marissa (Mischa Barton), the ultimate girl-next-door.
The season finale, set for May 5, focuses on the wedding between Marissa’s trampy mom Julie (Melinda Clarke) and Kirsten’s (Kelly Rowan) cutthroat mogul dad Caleb (Alan Dale).
“The wedding – does it actually go through? I walk down the aisle, but does it happen?” Melinda Clarke said. “The wedding, honestly, is only a fraction of what happens in the finale. It happens to be one of the events the characters are all focusing on, but they all have other things going on – choices will be made and lives will be altered forever.”
