President Obama made a farewell appearance on “Late Show With David Letterman” Monday and it beat the competition.

According to Variety, the Obama outing, during which the president suggested he and Letterman could play dominoes together, scored a 3.5 rating, ahead of both “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (2.5) and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (2.2).

This was the top overnight for “Late Show” since September 2012, when another Obama visit averaged a 4.0 rating.
