OPRAH CANCELS SCHOOL SHOW
OPRAH Winfrey abruptly yanked yesterday’s planned “Oprah” show about the 10th anniversary of the Columbine High School shootings.
“I decided to pull the Columbine show today,” Winfrey wrote on her Facebook page.
“After reviewing it, I thought it focused too much on the killers.”
The show featured Dave Cullen, author of the new book, “Columbine,” which details the events of April 20, 1999 — when Columbine High School students Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris gunned down 12 students and a teacher before killing themselves.
Cullen was joined on the unaired “Oprah” by FBI Special Agent Dwayne Fuselier, featured in the book, and Kate Battan, lead investigator of the Columbine Task Force.
“Today, hold a thought for the Columbine community,” Winfrey wrote on her Facebook page.
“This is a hard day for them.” She signed her message, “Oprah.”
Winfrey’s production company, Harpo, could not confirm whether the Columbine show would ever air.
