If you thought Oprah’s final show was a big deal in the ratings, now comes word that she was huge on the Internet, too.

According to a research company that measures what people talk about on the Web, Oprah’s last show was one of the top five events of the year.

Only the death of Osama bin Laden, the royal wedding, the Super Bowl and Oscars inspired more activity, says media measurement firm General Sentiment.

The Web activity was even more than the “American Idol” finale, a perennial top-scorer, reported the firm.

The final TV show — Oprah’s highest-rated show in 17 years — drew an estimated 13.3 million viewers last Wednesday, according to unofficial accounts.
