Discovery is close to announcing it’s won the Sarah Palin sweepstakes.

Insiders say it’s a “done deal” that “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will end up at Discovery, with final details being hammered out. An official announcement could come as early as today.

The show, produced by Mark Burnett, spurred a bidding war between Discovery and A&E, which backed off the reported $1.2 million-per-episode pricetag.

The show will feature the former governor of Alaska, and 2008 vice-presidential candidate, as she shows viewers Alaska’s sights and sounds.
