Playoffs a hit
WATCHING this year’s baseball playoffs proved to be a popular pastime for armchair athletes.
Thanks to exciting games, viewership of the 13 MLB League Division Series games was up 11 percent over last year. TBS reports that total viewership, over the six days of post-season games, increased from an average 4.3 million viewers in 2008 to 4.8 million this year.
Monday night’s Game 4 between the Phillies and Rockies, marked by an exciting Phillies comeback victory, averaged 5.2 million viewers. But it was the Yankees-Twins series — a Bombers sweep — that drew the most fans, 6.6 million viewers.
