It’s almost like … synchronicity.

Surprising no one, the Police announced yesterday that the band is reuniting for a tour – the day after the group ripped through “Roxanne” to open the Grammys. Typical response: No kidding!

The British band broke up at the height of its popularity more than two decades ago. The reunion, which should reap millions for Sting, drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers, will visit Madison Square Garden Aug. 1 and 3.

Tickets for the New York shows will go on sale Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Ticketmaster.

Members of the Police Tour Fan Club (ThePoliceTour.com) will have access to a members-only ticket presale beginning at noon today. Membership costs $100 and can be purchased during the presale along with tickets, in a slight case of highway robbery.
