Prince Andrew’s story is set to be immortalized via the small screen — in an Amazon limited series.
The disgraced Duke of York’s infamous — and disastrous — 2019 BBC “Newsnight” interview he did with journalist Emily Maitlis has inspired an upcoming miniseries, per Variety.
The three-part event, titled “A Very Royal Scandal,” is currently in production in the United Kingdom and will star Michael Sheen as Andrew and Ruth Wilson as Maitlis.
The official synopsis reveals that the show will chronicle “Emily Maitlis’ professional and personal journey as a Newsnight journalist, leading up to her acclaimed interview with Prince Andrew.”
Joanna Scanlan, Alex Jennings and Éanna Hardwicke will also star in the series, which doesn’t have a release date yet.
The episodes will be in the similar vein of Amazon’s “A Very English Scandal” (2018) and “A Very British Scandal” (2021).
The “car crash” of an interview with Andrew, 63, and Maitlis, 53, was meant to discuss the former’s affiliation with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
However, the interview was so full of wild tidbits that the sit-down was seen as catastrophic.

Giuffre accused Epstein of trafficking her to Andrew. She filed a sex abuse lawsuit against the duke in 2021 following Epstein’s 2019 death.
As a result, the late Queen Elizabeth II stripped Andrew of his military and royal titles, and he stepped down from public duty in early 2022.
The prince met Epstein in 1999 and they stayed friends until Epstein’s death in 2019. His statement continued: “I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein. His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathize with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure. I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives. Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required.”
Additionally, Andrew alleged that he had “absolutely no memory” of a certain photo being taken of himself and Roberts — the one taken in 2001 where Andrew has his arm around her at Epstein’s home.
He then claimed that he and Epstein were “not that close.”

Maitlis appeared in the doc and claimed that Andrew “lost a lot from doing that interview.”
Maitlis sat down with the disgraced Duke of York in November 2019 for a disastrous “Newsnight” interview.
“My intention was not to ruin his life. That was not on my radar,” she explained. “I am really proud of the interview itself actually.”
In August, the journalist further opened up about the sit-down. “[I] knew I had to do an interview that would hold up in a court of law once we had the chance there could not be a misstep,” Maitlis told the Mirror.
“It felt like a trial. I am proud of the team, of what we did, how we got it and what we put on air.”
