‘Real’ big
As if you needed more proof that tossing a tantrum on reality TV equals ratings, “The Real Housewives of New York” just had its biggest week in the series history — thanks to Kelly Bensimon’s hissy fit in the Virgin Islands.
The show’s audience jumped to 2.6 million viewers in the week after Bensimon went all tropical storm in a much talked-about confrontation with cast mates during a get-away trip.
The blow-up helped “New York” win the battle of the buzz over rival “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” which has had a more low-key season.
