Jesse Holley, the dread locked NFL aspirant who won Michael Irvin’s reality TV show to get a shot with the Dallas Cowboys, has been cut by the team.

For most of this month it seemed that Holley, a 25-year-old wide receiver from New Jersey, would end up starring in a Cinderella story after returning a punt 82 yards for a touchdown in the Cowboys’ final preseason game last week.

But he was told over the weekend that he had not made the final roster despite catching two passes in that same game. He was the last man to be cut, according to reports. Holley won “4th and Long,” a competition reality show hosted by Irvin, the former Cowboy great, on Spike.

He beat out five other receivers and six defensive backs for the grand prize — an invitation to Cowboys training camp this summer.
