WHO knew Tim Burton had a sweet tooth?

The eccentric director (“Edward Scissorhands,” “Beetlejuice”) is set to remake Roald Dahl’s kid classic “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Although Dahl wrote the screenplay for “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” the 1971 film which starred Gene Wilder, he was unhappy with the movie.

But Burton has already gotten the go-ahead from Dahl’s estate and is finalizing talks with Warner Bros. to tell his version of the story of an eccentric chocolate maker who invites five lucky kids into his mysterious factory.
