‘SABRINA, the Teenage Witch” star Caroline Rhea will take over Rosie O’Donnell’s daytime slot as the host of her own talk show launching in fall 2002.
As The Post first reported last April, Rhea was the leading candidate to replace O’Donnell, who’s leaving “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” next May when her contract expires.
O’Donnell’s show is produced by Warner Bros. offshoot Telepictures, which will also produce Rhea’s show.
O’Donnell will serve as Executive Consultant on Rhea’s yet-to-be-named show.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Rosie and Telepictures,” said Rhea. “As a kid, I always wanted to be Carol Burnett or Johnny Carson. I love to chat and entertain. I’m probably the only celebrity where fans say to me, ‘I’ve got to go.’ “
