Sheen numbers soar
Charlie Sheen’s legal woes have been a boon for his TV show.
Sheen’s “Two and a Half Men” hit a season-high 17.3 million viewers on CBS Monday night, crushing its competition across-the-board in all demos and snaring its biggest audience since Dec. 2008.
On the syndicated side, Sheen’s Christmas Day arrest — allegedly for pulling a knife on his wife — helped the newsmagazines pull big numbers for the week ending Jan. 3.
“ET,” “Inside Edition,” “The Insider” and “Extra” — which all provided blanket coverage of the Sheen story — were up significantly over the previous week.
