SIMON COWELL is moving into the mov ies.

The “American Idol” judge is producing the rag-to-riches tale of a cell-phone salesman-turned-opera singer who won “Britain’s Got Talent” last year.

Of course, Cowell owns the story, too. The music man produces both the UK and the US versions of the show.

The movie, “One Chance,” will follow the story of Paul Potts, a down on his luck salesman who, on a lark, auditioned for “Talent” and went on to win the show and become a national hero.

“Chance” is expected to be a comedy/drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
