CBS is dropping the word that separated “60 Minutes” from six-season-old spinoff, “60 Minutes II.”

The CBS newsmagazine’s Sunday and Wednesday editions both will be known as “60 Minutes” by the time the 2004-05 season launches in fall.

Also “48 Hours” will begin CBS’ crime-themed Saturday nights with the title “48 Hours Mystery.”
