HOW low can they go?

Sunday night’s Daytime Emmys telecast averaged 2.2 million viewers on The CW — an all-time-low for the broadcast which, in its heyday (1993), pulled in 21.9 million viewers.

The telecast’s previous low was last year, when it pulled in only 5.3 million viewers on ABC — which decided it wasn’t worth the trouble to air anymore.

There’s now some question as to whether the Daytime Emmyscast will move to cable next year, like the Miss America Pageant, or go bye-bye forever.
