Actor Alexis Ortega, who was the Latin American Spanish voice of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, has died. He was 38.

Ortega’s death was confirmed Tuesday by several Latin American outlets, including World Dubbing News.

“We regret to announce the sensitive passing of voice actor Alexis Ortega, we send our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues in this very difficult time,” the outlet wrote on Instagram.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Ortega was born in Mexico on Aug. 31, 1987, and began his voice-acting career in 2013.

He did the voiceover dub for Holland, 29, in the Latin American versions of the Marvel movies “Captain America: Civil War” (2016), “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017) and “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018).

Ortega also did Spanish voiceover work on “Big Hero 6” (2014), “Finding Dory” (2016), “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” (2016) and “Cars 3” (2017).

As an onscreen actor, Ortega appeared in the 2018 Spanish Netflix shows “Luis Miguel: The Series” and “The House of Flowers.”

In recent years, Ortega did dubbing on projects for famous YouTuber MrBeast, according to El Mundo America.

Ortega shared his final Instagram post in November 2025, featuring a photo of him and his dog cuddling on the couch.

“My doggo,” Ortega wrote in the caption.

In the comments, fans reacted to the tragic news of Ortega’s death.

“Rest easy king you will be missed,” one fan wrote.

“Rest in peace beloved Alexis,” another fan said.

“We will miss you spiderman,” a third comment read.

“Rest in peace, adventurer,” someone else added.

Ortega dubbed over Holland in the British actor’s first three Marvel films.

In total, Holland has appeared in six MCU projects: “Captain America: Civil War,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame” (2019), “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021).

Holland is reprising his role as Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” set to be released July 31.

His fiancée, Zendaya, is expected to reprise her role as Peter’s love interest, Michelle “MJ” Jones.

Other MCU stars set to appear include Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Jon Bernthal (Punisher) and Michael Mando (Scorpion). New cast members include Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman.
