A close finish helped Tuesday’s All-Star game hit a home run.

The game, a 4-3 American League victory, averaged 14.6 million viewers on Fox — up from 14.5 million who watched last year’s game and the best All-Star viewership since 2002, according to Nielsen.

Not surprisingly, host city St. Louis had the best ratings (New York finished 10th).
