STARR REPORT
She’s Shar to watch
Shar Jackson, otherwise known as Kevin Federline’s ex-wife,will play Wanda’s (Kellita Smith) sister on an upcoming episode of Fox’s “The Bernie Mac Show,” which airs Fridays (8 p.m./Ch. 5).
In the episode, “Spinning Wheels,” Wanda’s sister shows up to celebrate Wanda’s birthday – and volunteers to
throw Wanda a roller disco party, setting into motion some long-held sister-rivalry issues. Jackson is no stranger to sitcoms, having starred on UPN’s “Moesha” (she played Moesha’s friend, Niecy Jackson). There’s no airdate yet for
her “Bernie Mac” episode.

MeshNY, the accessory showroom founded by Carmen Fritsch, made its debut on NBC’s “Will & Grace” when guest star Trisha Simmons wore four MeshNY accessories, including a mesh ring designed by Fritsch and partner Boris Goynatsky and a handbag by April Marzoli. The “W&G” episode is scheduled for Jan. 19. Elsewhere at NBC, singer/songwriter Levi Kreis, who helped the Capital Edge team win their songwriting/performing task on the Nov. 17 episode of “The Apprentice,” just had his new song, “I Should Go,” selected by NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” to be the theme music for Austin and Carrie as they rekindle their love affair. The song will make its debut Jan. 10.
Last, but not least:
* ABC’s Elizabeth Vargas, Geraldo Rivera (“Geraldo at Large”) in Iraq to cover the impending elections there.
* “Inside Edition,” anchored by Deborah Norville, moves to its new timeslot today (noon/Ch. 5).
* HGTV’s “White House Christmas 2005” special set a network record: 1.3 million viewers, an all-time-high for a prime-time Wednesday telecast.
* Happy belated birthday to Daniella Cracknell (Twentieth Television).
—
* Sci Fi Channel is trying something novel. It will start airing reruns of the quirky soap opera “Passions” – which includes a lot of magic and fantasy, including a love-lorn chimp – in the mornings starting in February.
* Ratings for “The O.C.” (starring Mischa Barton) have been dropping off steadily since it came back after a long hiatus for the World Series. Since late October, ratings have fallen 10 percent. The likely reason? “Smallville” is now on opposite it.
