STARR REPORT
A wedding of ideas
Television is an industry built on imitation. And if imi tation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Michael Gel man should be very flattered by all the knockoffs of the “Wedding Week” concept he introduced to “Live with Regis & Kelly” years ago. Since then, several cable and broadcast shows (you know who you are) have either “borrowed” the wedding- week concept whole or, in some cases, re-tooled it a bit (“Bridezillas,” etc.).
In any event, the original “Wedding Week” kicks off today on “Live” (9 a.m./Ch. 7) as Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa announce the chosen couple, with viewers getting to know them all week culmi nating in Friday’s ceremony hosted by Philbin and Ripa.

Book ’em: Gary David Gold berg, who created “Family Ties,” “Spin City” and (the short-lived) “Brooklyn Bridge” has a new autobiog raphy, “Sit, Ubu, Sit” (with a too-long subtitle). It’s billed as “a dishy entertainment read” with particular em phasis on Goldberg’s atten tion to women’s/ family is sues, including, at his request, the establishment of a child care center on the Paramount lot when he was running “Family Ties” in 1985.
“Late Show’s” Paul Shaffer, meanwhile, has written the foreword for “StarLust: The Price of Fame,” a new book from actor/musician Jesse Cutler (“Godspell”).
Last, but not least:
* “Lost” returned to 16 mil lion viewers Thursday night.
* Tonight at 8 on Ch. 9: “Celebrity Expose” exam ines the Anna Nicole Smith tragedy, one year later.
