STARR REPORT
Person-to-person call
It’s a good bet that soap- opera buffs have talked back to their TV sets, and to their favorite characters, while watching their favorite shows. Well, ABC is offering the chance to talk back to your favorite character – including Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), Bo Buchanan (Robert S. Woods) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) – in person.
“Fan February” will return Feb. 4, giving fans of “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital” the chance to appear in a scene with their favorite character from those shows.
Starting Monday, fans can log on to abc.com/daytime and choose the character with whom they want to appear on each of the three shows.
Fans can enter once per show for a total of three chances to win. One winner, chosen randomly, will be flown to either L.A. or New York in January to tape a scene airing in February.
Vince Curatola, known to fans of “The Sopranos” as Johnny Sack, is currently filming a new movie, “Johnny Slade’s Greatest Hits,” along with fellow “Sopranos” cast mates John Fiore (Gigi) and Richard Portnow (Uncle Junior’s lawyer).
In the movie, Curatola plays a mobster-in-hiding who’s got a unique way to give his henchmen orders – by writing them into lyrics he writes for broken-down lounge singer Johnny Slade (Fiore), who doesn’t realize he’s in on the scheme while he performs for the mobsters. “Johnny Slade’s Greatest Hits,” written and directed by Larry Blamire and also co- starring Dolores Sirriani, is shooting up in Massachusetts.
Last, but not least:
Ex-“Waltons” star Michael Learned has contributed to a fund for a bench in Central Park in memory of her friend Kary D. Presten (son of veteran publicist Sy Presten).
