STARR REPORT
Glass fills key role “Prime time Live” has found its “TW3” girl: Singer/ ac tress Kristy Glass, who’s per formed Off- Broadway and around the country in theater and cabaret. Glass will fill a key role in “Primetime Live’s” mini-revival of the original “That Was The Week That Was,” a topical satirical showcase that aired on NBC (1964-65) and was nicknamed “TW3.”
Ironically, Glass was the very first person who audi tioned for Shelley Ross, “Primetime Live’s” new exec utive producer who’s behind the “TW3” revival.
“There were about eight fi nalists and any one of them would have been terrific,” Ross says. “But there was an ‘X’ factor about Kristy – she really responded to the ma terial and it just registered. She clearly ‘got’ it.”
On the original show, Nancy Ames crooned the show’s theme song – but Ross says she was looking for someone more along the lines of original “TW3” ensemble member Millicent Martin. “You could read Millicent’s eyes and they made the ma terial funnier,” she says. “Nancy Ames was a singer first – Millicent was a come dienne who could sing.”
Glass will sing several satir ical songs and will be joined by a news reader on the “TW3” segments.
