Former “Melrose Place” star Jamie Luner has turned to crime – or, at least, to investigating it – in the NBC suspense series, “Profiler.” A Los Angeles native, the 28-year-old ravishing redhead began appearing in commercials when she was just 4. But, it was after Luner won an acting award at a Shakespeare festival in high school, that she decided to make the world her stage.
Appearances on “Growing Pains” led to a role in the spin-off series “Just the Ten of Us,” as well as guest spots on “Diagnosis, Murder” and “Married With Children.” The 5-foot-9-inch stunner also starred in the TV series “Savannah” and a number of films, including “Friends & Lovers” with Robert Downey Jr.
Luner can be seen later this year, opposite Michael Madsen, in the film “Sacrifice.”
Q: What do you do to relax?
A: I meditate. It’s the most functional way to relax in a world that doesn’t give me much time. Deep breathing relaxes me and centers my energy.
Q: What can’t you live without?
A: The love and support of my family and friends.
Q: What’s your workout routine?
A: My life doesn’t allow for a lot of consistency or regularity, but I try to do something every day. I run, do isometrics, low weights with high reps, stretching, yoga and t’ai chi.
Q: What are some of your favorite things?
A: I’m really into the spiritual aspect of my life right now. Crystals, candles, incense, friends and family, music, dance and acting.

A: Anything Asian – sushi, Thai, Chinese. I also love frozen yogurt.
Q: Do you follow a special diet?
A: I don’t believe in dieting anymore because it comes with so many negative connotations – if you cheat and go off it, then you’re bad. I believe in eating a diversity of foods and not overindulging. I like to eat foods that are not processed, and I keep away from sugar and caffeine.
Q: Describe your personal style.
A: I’m a chameleon. If I’m going out on the town, I’ll wear an Armani suit. If I’m going to a Phish concert, I’ll dress like a hippie.

A: My spirituality.

Q: What do you wear for a big night out?
A: If I’m going to a premiere, I usually get someone to donate an outfit to me. I’m not a fashion junkie.

A: Pamper yourself. Get a massage, light candles when your in the bath. Go for the inner, not the outer [beauty] and everything else will follow.
Q: What do you use to accessorize?
A: I wear a necklace of a goddess holding a moonstone. I saw it around the neck of one of the extras on my show, and I was so drawn to it that she gave it to me.

A: My friends don’t tease me.
