AT least a dozen features from this year’s Sundance Film Festival will be shown in May at the Brooklyn Academy of Music as part of a new collaboration between the two arts organizations.

The 10-day program will open on May 11 with a world premiere on all four screens of BAM’s Rose Cinemas, followed by a Sundance Institute alumni celebration.

Besides the dramatic and documentary features to be chosen after the festival’s conclusion on Jan. 29, the new program will include question-and-answer sessions with filmmakers, a screenplay reading and concerts of film music.

The program is being called “Creative Latitude,” a reference to the 40.6-degree latitude shared by Brooklyn and Park City, Utah – the longtime site of the festival.

“We are pleased to bring New York the spirit of Sundance,” said Sundance Institute founder Robert Redford.

“Our collaboration with BAM is the keystone of our 25th anniversary celebration plans during the year.”
