SUNDAY’S “Survivor: Pearl Islands” finale snared 25.4 million viewers, carrying CBS to an easy prime-time victory.

The finale, which aired from 8 to 10 p.m. (followed by a one-hour “reunion” show), grew in viewership every half hour, peaking with 26.4 million viewers from 9:30 to 10 p.m., as long-shot Sandra Diaz-Twine grabbed the $1 million grand prize.

The one-hour reunion show averaged 22.7 million viewers.

The “Pearl Islands” finale garnered 3 million more viewers than the series’ previous finale, “Survivor: Amazon,” which averaged 22 million viewers last May.

This edition of the popular CBS franchise featured compelling storylines driven by the most popular (Rupert Boneham) and most despised (Jon Dalton) contestants in the show’s history.
