‘TASIA LIFE AS MOVIE
‘AMERICAN Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino will be the subject of a new Lifetime movie, the cable network said yesterday.
The film will deal with her overcoming an adolescence in which she endured sexual abuse, poverty and illiteracy. Barrino is expected to play herself in the film.
Barrino won the third season of “Idol” two years ago and was nominated for four Grammy awards this year. Her first album, “Free Yourself,” went double platinum in 2004.
Last year she released her memoir, “Life is Not a Fairy Tale” (which she dictated to a freelance writer). In it, she revealed that she is functionally illiterate. Since winning “Idol,” she has been learning to read through private tutors.
