TEARY END FOR N.Y. ‘IDOL’
CONSTANTINE Maroulis, the shaggy-haired New Yorker, was voted off last night’s live edition of “American Idol,” leaving five finalists and “Idol” judge Paula Abdul in tears.
“I’m really blessed to have gotten this far,” Maroulis said. “I love you all very much. That’s the name of the game. It’s cool.”
Maroulis’ departure shocked Abdul, who weeped openly. “I think you have shown such . . .” Abdul said, breaking down. “I can’t even speak. I think you’re such a star.”
Anthony Fedorov and Vonzell Solomon were also up for elimination, but survived for at least another week.
