ABC Family struck a cord with viewers with “Secret Life of the American Teenager” this past summer.

The story of good-girl-gone-pregnant Amy (Shailene Woodley), 15, and mom Anne (Molly Ringwald) gained enough traction to push the series into a second season.

But, it doesn’t take a math whiz to realize nine months can’t last forever.

Once the baby is born, what will happen next?

In a clip from the premiere of season two, Amy sits down with her boyfriend and baby daddy Ben Boykewich (Kenny Baumann), who proposed after hearing news of the pregnancy, to discuss their future now that Anne has changed her mind about adopting the baby.

Less “Gossip Girl” and more “7th Heaven” (thanks to creator Brenda Hampton), “Secret Life” follows the drama of band geek Anne’s friends – mischievous majorette Adrian (Francia Raisa), brooding drummer Ricky (Daren Kagasoff), Christian cheerleader Grace (Megan Park) and football star Jack (Greg Finley II) – on and off the high school field.

Season one ended with Amy starting her second trimester and Anne asking husband George (Mark Derwin) for a divorce.

Season two premieres Jan. 5.
