WEDNESDAY’S “West Wing” episode on the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks was the show’s highest-rated episode.

The episode – called “Isaac & Ishmael” and written by series creator Aaron Sorkin in the days following the attacks – drew 25.2 million viewers, more than CBS, ABC and Fox combined.

Here in New York, the episode easily won its timeslot on Ch. 4, attracting 1.3 million households.

It also provided a great lead-in for the season premiere of “Law & Order,” which drew 22.5 million viewers – its largest audience ever in 12 years.

“West Wing” will return to its “regular” plotlines next Wednesday.
