TO some, Dido is a bad girl merely because of her association with controversial rapper Eminem – even though she’s never met him. Her mysterious voice is sampled on “Stan,” one of the more controversial songs on Eminem’s 2-million-

plus-selling disc, “The Marshall Mathers LP.” The sample was taken from Dido’s love song “Thankyou,” a sweet ode that says just what its title implies.

On “Stan,” Dido’s composition is wrapped into the urban tale of a deranged fan bent on a murderous assault. “No one should take the association seriously,” she says. “All that happened was he sampled my song.”

She adds she considers Eminem to be “very, very talented” and likes his music.

All of it? “No. Some of it is horrific. But that’s probably his intention,” she says.
