THE DON’T MISS LIST
Proud Tina
AWARDS
TINA TURNER, the mighty and indestructible red-hot mama from Nutbush, Ten-nessee, is just one of the recipients of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. With songs like “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It” to her credit, Turner became a symbol of strength and survival after her escape from abusive ex-husband Ike Turner. Sharing the stage with Turner are more sedate, mainstream talents: Tony Bennett, Tony-award winning actress Julie Harris, Robert Redford and Suzanne Farrell.

MOVIE
Heath on top
No actor’s hotter right now than Heath Ledger. His performance as a sexually conflicted cowboy in “Brokeback Mountain” has won accolades. How funny that NBC should broad-cast one of his earlier, light-weight movies, 2001’s “A Knight’s Tale.” Here, Ledger play a humble squire who aspires to be a champion jouster. William also courts the local princess, whose devotion makes him charge harder.
