ALL eyes at the Golden Globes will be on which drama pic picks up the Best Picture prize. The momentum for the gaythemed “Brokeback Mountain” can’t be stopped; there’s also widespread support for George Clooney’s “Good Night and Good Luck.” Globes are given out by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a dubious bunch of journalists who love the phrase “free lunch.” The presenters include Leonardo DiCaprio, Harrison Ford and last year’s winners Jamie Foxx and Natalie Portman. Don’t blab about your private life
NEVER confide in anyone from the workplace. That’s the lesson of this week’s episode of the NBC comedy “The Office.” Jim (John Krasinski) is worried that he made a mistake telling Michael (Steve Carell) that he has the hots for Pam (Jenna Fischer) on the company’s recent booze cruise. In an effort to keep Michael from blabbing his secret to everyone in the office, Jim has to pretend he’s Michael’s buddy, and that means having lunch at Hooters.

“DANCING WITH THE STARS” attracted an audience of 17 million for its premiere, meaning that Americans can’t get enough of cheesy athletic competitions that feature stars we’ve forgotten. What will happen when has-been put on skates? We’ll know soon enough when “Skating With Celebrities” premieres this week. Get a load of the “talent” assembled for this pageant of possibilities: aged pop tart Deborah Gibson, Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner, Todd Bridges of “Diff’rent Strokes” fame and media maven Jillian Barberie. They lace up and skate with some impressive professionals, including Nancy Kerrigan, Tai Babilo-nia and Kurt Browning, among others.

Test of faith
DR. COX (John McGinley) is having his newborn son baptized. His sister Paige (Cheryl Hines, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”) comes to the ceremony and questions her brother about his faith. Meanwhile, Turk (Donald Faison) finds that baby-making is not as sexy as he had hoped it would be. In the nick of time, Elliot (Sarah Clarke) helps him understand that Carla (Judy Reyes) isn’t getting hung-up on the small stuff.

THERE’S no arguing with the success of “American Idol.” Its winners – among them, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood – have sold millions of records. Even runners-up such as Bo Bice have scored. What will season five hold? Will the judges find another star like Underwood and Clarkson, someone’s who’s got the pipes and the charisma to go all the way to the top. Auditions this time around begin in Chicago.

IT’S been too long since we had a new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy.” What’s going on with the romantically challenged surgeons and interns at Seattle Grace? Izzie (Katherine Heigl) is not holding up so well. She’s practically over her pointless infatuation with player Alex (Justin Chambers), and then develops a crush on a guy who’s at death’s door. The patient (Denny Duquette) has a bad heart and is awaiting a transplant. Izzie is one intern who needs a reality check. George (T.R. Knight) faces new diplomatic hurdles – and wins the Weird Patient of the Week award) – when he treats a young teen hermaphrodite.
