Cristina needs Burke
WELL, where are we with the denizens of Seattle Grace? The marriage of Derek and Addison is busted up and Addison’s New York stud, Dr. McSteamy (Eric Dane), is back on the scene while Meredith “dates” both McDreamy and McVet (Chris O’Donnell). Now that everyone’s sexual needs are taken care of, it’s time for personal insecurities to surface. Addison doubts her abilities as a doctor. Selfish Cristina pushes for faster progress in Burke’s rehabilitation. Then one of the interns suffers their own emergency, and Izzie receives the surprise of her life.

50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER
PETER O’Toole and David Tennant portray the world’s greatest lover in his nostalgic old age and his mattress-packed youth in a two-part drama based on the real life of Giacomo Casanova, the infamous 18th-century Lothario. Laura Frazer appears as the love of Casanova’s life; Rupert Penry-Jones plays Casanova’s archrival for that affection; and Nina Sosanza plays a castrato impersonator who makes a big impression on Casanova. Casanova has good advice for those who would emulate him: listen to your lover.

Making it work
THE judges have been unusually charitable this year on “Project Runway.” They didn’t vote off a contestant in the last competitive episode, shown on September 27.
Recognizing, perhaps, that their designers were burned out, the judges have allowed a quartet of finalists-Jeffrey, Laura, Michael and Uli-to show collections at Olympus Fashion Week in Bryant Park. This week, show mentor Tim Gunn visits the finalists in their homes in different parts of the country as they put their collections together. And in a new twist, the finale will reveal whether Jeffrey had assistance in the final designs, as Laura has charged.

Backstage laughs
WE’VE seen from the lackluster response to “Studio 60” that audiences don’t care about the behind-the-scenes developments at a fictitious TV show. Maybe “30 Rock,” drawn from Tina Fey’s experiences as the head writer for “Saturday Night Live,” will have better luck. Fey plays writer Liz Lemon. She butts heads with brash network executive Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin), who bullies her into hiring an unstable movie star (Tracy Morgan) to join the cast.

Doomsday
ASTRONAUT William Phillips (Campbell Scott) once lost the crew he had assembled for a special expedition.
This mystery haunts archaeologist Lloyd Walker (Gil Bellows) and entomologist Marianne Winters (Suleka Mathew) when they join a select group of people questioning a series of bizarre disappearances and accidents in their
city. Liz Quinlan (Daryl Hannah), one of the original mission astronauts, is the only person who knows the terrible truth: the city and its civilian leaders have been taken over by aliens masquerading as humans, and Quinlan’s body is playing host to their queen.
