The royal treatment
* The Queen has not taken a driving test. As Princess Elizabeth, she took a course while serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Services (ATS) toward the end of World War II. She received a certificate available to all service drivers who had no civilian license. At the time she was probably the only princess in the world who could change spark plugs. (And likely still is.)
* Princess Diana got tired of struggling out of a Daimler limousine trying not to show her underwear. She and Charles swapped to a Bentley Turbo R so when on official engagements she could step out gracefully.
* Before she married, Diana used to drive a boxy little city car called an Austin Metro. Later she drove a number of sporty Fords.
* Kate Middleton drives a Range Rover Sport. She’s also owned an Audi A3.
