All the talk at 11

Those rumors about Ch.11 launching an early-morning news/talk show just won’t go away. They’re heating up again, this time with a mid-to-late March startup date being mentioned.

Insiders now say that Ch.11 has hired Wilson “Will” Surratt, a producer from Tribune-owned KTLA/Ch.5 in Los Angeles, to oversee the telecast, which would fit nicely into the 5 to 7 a.m. slot leading into “Pokemon.”

Ch.11 execs won’t comment on the rumors, and have been tight-lipped about any such show from the get-go.

Sources at KTLA say Surratt — a producer of KTLA’s top-rated “KTLA Morning News” — left the station two weeks ago on good terms, and that his departure was “widely known” in the newsroom.

‘Who’ next?

Fox finished last from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday night — the same timeslot in which “Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire?” was supposed to be repeated, this time in a condensed, hour-long version.

Fox decided to scrap the repeat after all the brouhaha over the Rick Rockwell-Darva Conger union, despite snagging 23 million viewers initially.

Instead, Fox repeated “The Truth Behind the Sitcom Scandals” and finished dead-last, drawing only 5 million households.
