Gaspin for air: VH1 exec bolts

Jeff Gaspin, who co-created VH1’s extremely popular “Behind the Music” series, is leaving the network after five years.

“Jeff is leaving for another job and we will be making an announcement about his replacement shortly,” a VH1 spokeswoman said late Friday.

Gaspin, VH1’s executive vice president of programming and production, also oversaw the network’s programming lineup and helped develop “Divas Live,” game shows and original VH1 movies. Insiders say the parting was “mutual.”

Sorbo called back for May ‘Greg’ seg

ABC’s “Dharma & Greg,” looking for anything to juice up its poor ratings, has invited ex-“Hercules” star Kevin Sorbo back for two May sweeps episodes.

Sorbo will reprise his role as Charlie, the college professor with eyes for Dharma (Jenna Elfman). Sorbo’s appearances on “Dharma & Greg” last month helped the show net some of its best ratings this season.

Sorbo, meanwhile, is preparing to shoot the second season of “Andromeda,” in which he stars as Dylan Hunt.

Anna Scorpio returns in ‘AMC’ shocker

Today’s episode of “All My Children” (1 p.m./Ch. 7) will reveal how and why double agent Anna Devane Lavery Scorpio (Finola Hughes) has reappeared – nine years after her apparent death on “General Hospital.”

Today’s episode will reveal what happened after Anna’s presumed death from a boat explosion in 1992. Hughes is playing the dual roles of twin sisters Anna and Alex (her “AMC”) character.

During her run on “GH,” Anna was, among other plotlines, married to Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and was a double agent with the DVX, a Cold War spy group akin to the KGB.

Ex-publicist gets a ‘Smart’ movie deal

Former Ch. 5 publicist Bill Collage has sold a remake of ’60s hit “Get Smart” to Warner Bros., which is planning to make a big-screen feature.

Collage repped Ch. 5 while working for LB Lipman Public Relations. He left Lipman in 1996 to pursue a career in screenwriting.

He and writing partner Adam Cooper’s “Get Smart” script has Maxwell Smart (Don Adams in the TV version) battling evil in New York. They’ve also written a movie for Jackie Chan (“Stretch Armstrong”).

* Ch. 7 weatherman Sam Champion chastising unnamed local colleagues on-air Thursday for trying to predict a snowstorm four days away.
