MEGAN JOY, the tattooed blond singer from Utah, was given the boot by “Ameri can Idol” fans last night after she failed to impress them with her rendition of “Turn Your Lights Down Low” during the show’s popular downloads-themed week.

And her only hope of being saved by the judges — who can opt to use a once-per-season veto power over the fan voting to keep a contestant in the running — was shattered when she declared, “I don’t care.”

“Megan, with the greatest respect, when you said you didn’t care, nor do we,” said Simon Cowell.

“This is your swan song, enjoy it,” added Cowell, who called the performance boring, indulgent and monotonous. He added that the judges didn’t even need to hear her sing once more before deciding whether to keep her.

So she sang one last time and gave a shout-out to the 2-year-old son she left behind in Sandy, Utah.

“I’m coming home, baby,” she said.

With Joy hitting the road, only two women are left in the competition: R&B singer Lil Rounds, and red-haired Allison Iraheta. Both have big voices and winning personalities. But based on the screams from the audience, neither is getting the love like favorites Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey or Kris Allen. The other remaining finalists include Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud and Scott MacIntyre.
