TORI TURNS REPORTER
TORI Spelling, who so often finds herself fodder for gossip, will play a gossip columnist this year on “Smallville.”
Spelling (who since her father’s death this summer has been embroiled in a full-on public feud with her mother, Candy) is joining the show as a guest star playing a gossip columnist for the Daily Planet, the newspaper where Clark Kent will work one day, reports TV Guide.
Since it’s “Smallville” – where everybody seems to be afflicted with some sort of super power – Spelling’s character can turn herself into water – a handy trick for a gossip columnist.
This is far from the first time that Spelling has used a TV show to poke fun at her real life. Last spring she joked about her silver- spoon image in VH1’s short-lived, semi-reality show “So NoTORIous,” in which actors played her parents.
“Smallville,” now heading into its sixth season, is one of a handful of shows to survive the merger between the WB Network and UPN to create what is now being called The CW.
