TOTALLY ’80S ‘GIRL’
THE new “Gossip Girl” spinoff will launch as the season finale episode of the popular CW show next spring.
The yet-to-be-titled show will begin to unfold in episode 24 of “Gossip Girl” and, like the spinoff, will take place in the 1980s and focus on Lily and Rufus, the parents of “Gossip Girl” faves Serena and Dan, according to reports.
The spinoff setup episode is slated to be filmed in mid-March.
“Gossip Girl” creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage began to focus on the new show about six months ago, but rumors of it have been circulating for nearly a year.
It is expected to center on a young version of Lily, who gets kicked out of a ritzy boarding school, has a falling out with her rich parents and moves in with Carol, her free-spirited actress sister in California’s San Fernando Valley.
