‘NIP/Tuck” creator Ryan Murphy will return for the show’s fifth season on FX – and will develop other programming for Fox under a new deal announced yesterday.
With “Nip/Tuck” expanding to 22 episodes next season, Murphy will have his hands full.
But part of his new deal includes developing new projects with Twentieth TV, including a first-look deal with Fox.
Murphy will continue as the executive producer/writer/director of “Nip/Tuck,” which premiered in 2003 and holds the basic-cable record for ratings in the coveted adults 18-49 demo.
Murphy will develop both comedies and dramas for Fox.
He wrote and directed last fall’s big-screen movie, “Running with Scissors,” and is set to direct Meryl Streep and Annette Bening in “Dirty Tricks.”
Fox is a division of News Corp., which also owns The Post. – Michael Starr
