The 110-foot-high Holland Tunnel Ventilation Building will serve as an outdoor cinema screen for film and video works by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, among others.

The free screenings, sponsored by the Whitney Museum of American Art and Minetta Brook, an arts organization, will be shown twice nightly on the waterfront at West and Canal streets, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., starting Saturday through Oct. 4.
