CONGRESS is suddenly hot – and not just in a bad way.

A series about a young congressional aide trying to navigate the treacherous waters of Capitol Hill – which was rejected four years ago – has quietly been resurrected.

The CW, the young network created from the merger of UPN and The WB, has asked Rod Lurie – who created the roller-coaster series of last season, “Commander in Chief” – to rework the series he developed in 2002 for ABC but which was never shown on TV.

“Capital City” originally starred Leslie Bibb (from “Popular”) as the young aide.
