WNBC/Ch.4 is changing its daytime schedule today, moving “Sally Jessy Raphael” back to its old 3 p.m. timeslot and shifting “Roseanne” to 11 a.m.

Numbers tell the story here: “Sally” averaged 361,000 households in the 3 p.m. timeslot last May, while “Roseanne” averaged only 170,000 households at 3 p.m. in November.

Novel(a) ideaOle! Spanish-language WXTV/Ch.41 beat WWOR/Ch.9 again on Thursday night.

But brace yourself … if that wasn’t enough, Ch.41’s “La Mentira” telenovela beat WABC/Ch.7’s “Cupid” and tied WNYW/Ch.5’s “Fox Files” from 9 to 10 p.m. Thursday!

Ch.41’s Liliana Marin was also the only local anchor to report live from the scene of the devastating Colombian earthquake.-

Ex-‘Wives’

Court TV has apologized for running a commercial depicting a disgruntled wife reaching for a steak knife to get revenge on a Super Bowl-obsessed husband.

Court TV scheduled a series of specials against the Super Bowl featuring stories about women who attacked their husbands.

Now it’s abandoned its “Wives with Knives” promotion in response to complaints that it was in questionable taste – including a scathing column from Post TV Critic Adam Buckman.- Post Wire Services

‘Lost’ time

Beginning today, DIRECTV will premiere “The Lost World,” an original movie produced by John “Animal House” Landis for the satellite-TV provider.

This is the first time that DIRECTV has released an original movie for its subscribers. “Lost World” – based on a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle story – will be available 24 hours a day through March 10.- M.
